Shenzhen Victoria Park Academy is the first K9 bilingual school founded by Victoria (China) Education Group in Mainland China. Dr. Maggie Koong, the Head of Academy of Victoria Shanghai Academy (VSA), will lead Victoria Park Academy as Chief Principal. Victoria Education was founded in Hong Kong in 1965, and was introduced to the Mainland in 1998 by Dr. Maggie Koong and soon after the Victoria (China) Education Group was established.
Victoria Park Academy is an IB School that integrates two independent yet complementary educational philosophies. It immerses Chinese educational traditions with inquiry-based learning. The Academy offers immersive bilingual education - one teacher, one language. All students will be taught by two class teachers, one specializing in Mandarin Chinese and the other in English. The unique curriculum system and the established campus culture aims to combine the educational strengths and urban characteristics of Shenzhen and Hong Kong to cultivate future learners who are caring, driven, daring, and persevering. Ms. YUAN XIAOFENG is also an academical expert of Chinese teaching. She used to be the editor of Chinese textbooks of People's Education Publishing House, Teacher of the national backbone teacher training class, Chairman of the judging committee of the CCTV Children's Reading Club, the visiting professor of the Guangdong Principals Training Base. She served as the executive director of the Curriculum and Teaching Theory Professional Committee of the Guangdong Provincial Education Society. She also has rich experience as both Principal of Public School and Principal of International School.
Mr.Adam Hill
Originally from the UK, Adam moved to Hong Kong in 2014 and taught at Victoria Shanghai Academy for eight years. During that time, he held several leadership roles including Head of Year and Innovation Lead. As an experienced PYP and MYP teacher, he has a deep understanding of IB expectations and progression. Adam has a passion for STEAM, innovation and 21st century learning, and enjoys sharing his expertise as a STEAM consultant. Adam is an award-winning education blogger who finds value in sharing his learnings and reflections online.
Ms. Gloria Li Deputy Principal(Academic)
Ms. Gloria Li pursued her interest in education at the University of Hong Kong, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Language Education and a master’s degree in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language. She also holds a Master’s degree in Education Leadership, Organizations, and Entrepreneurship from Harvard Graduate School of Education. Prior to joining VPA, Gloria worked at Victoria Shanghai Academy in Hong Kong for 7 years and has taken up a variety of leadership roles. During this time, she also served as a PYP Workshop Leader and School Visit Team Member. Gloria has extensive knowledge and experience in bilingual education and IB curriculum design.

Dr. Maggie Koong May Kay Head of Academy
Dr. Koong received her Master of Education from the University of Hong Kong, and Doctor of Education from University of Durham. Dr. Koong joined Victoria Education Organisation in 1985 and is currently the Chief Principal of Causeway Bay Victoira Kindergarten and Victoria (China) Education Group, and founder and Head of Academy of Victoria Shanghai Academy. She was elected as a member of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Election Committee in September 2021. Dr Koong also served on the Council of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (2015-2021), is the former World President (2014-2017) of the World Organization for Early Childhood Education (OMEP).

Originally from the UK, Adam Hill has lived in Hong Kong and worked at Victoria Shanghai Academy since 2014. During that time, he has held several leadership positions, including Head of Year and Innovation Lead. Adam is working towards a master’s in Educational Leadership and Management. In addition, his passion for educational technology led to a range of professional titles such as Google for Education Certified Innovator. Adam enjoys sharing his knowledge and expertise with other educators. He is a keynote speaker and regular presenter at major events. In 2019, he was awarded the UK Blog Award for Education in recognition of his online sharing and commitment to the profession. Furthermore, Adam enjoys collaborating with schools as a STEM consultant and advisor.
